ADULT BIBLE STUDY: A 6 week Adult Bible Study session is offered two times a year: September thru November
and February thru April. We use the Loyola Press or Little Rock study series and usually
have 50-75 adults participate in 10-12 small groups. During Lent we use
Disciples on the Journey - 6 weeks reflection on the scriptures of Lent. ALTAR SERVERS: Cynthia Davis, 328-7392. Altar Servers need to be in 4th grade or above and attending either Religious Education or Catholic School. Meetings are held periodically for new Altar Servers and also refresher meetings for all Altar Servers. Several times during the Liturgical Year, the environment changes for the liturgical seasons. Of course, we know that the church is decorated differently for Christmas than for Lent or Easter. FALL FESTIVAL CHAIRCOUPLE: Bernie & Michele
Diamond 619-258-9824. The Festival is a wonderful community
gathering with many foods, games, craft and book sale booths. Entertainment by
local musicians is on stage, Friday and Saturday night dancing is very popular
with the young parishioners, and a Bingo room for people who like to gamble in
small amounts is also available. There is deep-pit bar-b-que dinner and silent
auction on Saturday evening in the Parish Center and real live Auction at the
outdoor stage area on Sunday afternoon.

is the contact person. The group meets every Friday PM at a member's home to
pray the Santo Niño's prayers, share food and companionship. All parishioners
are welcome to attend.
HISPANIC COMMUNITY: Norma

the month in a member's home to pray and to plan fundraisers and activities for

The Liturgy Committee looks to the needs of the Parish in today's Church, and seeks to apply the latest insights of the Church to liturgy, arts and music. A number of parishioners are designated as ministers to the sick and homebound. These ministers visit and take Holy Communion to parishioners in their homes. The ministers, on visiting the ill/injured person, reads a gospel passage, prays Our Father, and distributes Holy Communion. PARISH COUNCIL: President, Debbie White at 619-449-3704 The Parish Council acts as a representative voice of the people of God to the Pastor. The Council shall provide an open and honest forum of communication and dialogue regarding parish affairs among the Pastor, Associate Priest and the laity. The Council shall assist the Pastor in the administration of the Parish through recommendation and active cooperation. The Council shall continually survey both the spiritual and temporal needs of the Parish, the community and the Diocese and shall develop programs aimed at fulfilling those needs. The Council shall encourage coordination and mutual assistance in the practical working out of the programs of the various Parish organizations.

RETURNING CATHOLICS: We
offer sessions for "Been Away" Catholics during both the Christmas and Easter
season. Sessions are open forum and question and answer format. We also cover
FAQ (Frequently asked questions) on Reconciliation (Confession), Mass, Marriage
(Annulments/Con Validations), Conscience, Catechism of the Catholic Church,
Bible and Prayer. All sessions are in the Conference Room of the Parish
Center.

We
offer two kinds of scrip: paper and electronic. Paper scrip are gift
certificates for various stores/restaurants and are sold to parishioners at face
value. Electronic scrip is plastic gift cards for various
stores/restaurants and are sold to parishioners at face value. (Scrip
cards/certificates DO NOT expire in California). Please note that SCRIP will be
sold only in the PARISH office during the week at normal business hours and
after the 8:30 and 10:00 am Masses on Sundays (except during the summer when

We are in need of many more ushers and greeters, especially for the 5:30 pm Mass on Sundays and for all masses in the children's chapel. WEDDING COORDINATOR: Cathy DeFede 619-840-3781. WOMEN'S GUILD: Laurie Klodzienski at 619-449-5978. Women's Guild is an organization comprised of women from the parish who give of themselves voluntarily to provide services and perform various functions within the parish. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month, with a luncheon potluck at 12 noon. One of our main services is to provide funeral receptions to families upon request. Our main fundraiser is hosting a parish wide bake and craft sale twice a year. New ideas are always welcome as we invite all ladies who are interested to please come and join us. We are a fun, relaxed and active group.
YOUTH GROUP: Guardian
Angels Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings from 6:45 pm to 8:15 pm. Youth Group
includes grades 7th through 12th. 9th through 12th usually meet every Sunday
evening. 7th and 8th meet one Friday and one Sunday evening as designated in the
Church bulletin. We have evenings when we play games, work on projects for the
Church and community. We work on fund-raisers to help support the Youth Group.
We have evenings of discussions on daily life situations as well as on
scripture. We often have off-site trips. This is time to meet and socialize with
other Catholic Youth from our parish as well as from other churches. Watch for
